Bad news: I can't attend Coachella on Friday. I thought I would be able to request the day off, but it seems like I cannot...higher powers are keeping me there. I shall sit and be very spiteful all day. I shall even be spiteful when I win the big TV at the end of the event raffle.
Good news: Well none really. Oh, I guess the good news will be the ginormous TV that I better win in exchange for missing the following bands:
We're about a week away from Coachella 2008 and while I should be hydrating myself with water & gatorade starting NOW, I find myself instead dusting off the cobwebs of my ambitious Coachella Spreadsheet. You heard right. Back when the Coachella line up was officially announced on the website (remember that glorious day? the day you got your hopes up and suddenly plateaued into subtle indifference?), I was determined not to attend another Coachella unprepared. I didn't get too far with my concert research and preparation, obviously, since I'm just listening to most of the bands for the first time today.
I've actually fallen off the music bandwagon for a while now. I don't know who 75% of the bands music blogs are talking about are and the only radio I listen to currently is MyFM (formally KBIG) and KIIS FM. You just threw up a little, didn't you? Let me explain! I have no control over the radio at work, and well you know, I don't want to be rude. I let out my rage through healthy outlets, like writing, and silently fuming in my seat. That's why I created this blog--so I can hate on crap popular music and then secretly admit to liking some of it (some).
In any case...the point is, I'm back. I'm playing major catch-up, but I'm back. Starting with next week: Coachella. As the only Fat Kid (ghost) attending, I'll be sure to bring back news from the mediocre-gone-awesome festival. One word people... PRINCE!!!! Actually I take back all the shit talk, Coachella is actually going to be pretty awesome and I do look forward to many other acts. I suspect I'll be spending most of my time in the dance tent on the verge of heat stroke.
I'll even be at Stagecoach...against my will... But I'd rather not talk about that. Most likely I will come back with horror stories and battle scars in my ears.
Alright let's get this started! My xanga is dead and I don't remember the password to my old blogger site, so here she is...brand spankin new: POPURROCK!
It's named after Cafe Tacvba's live track from their Un Viaje album, where they play a mix of Rock en Español classics all in one song. Here I intend to spill my thoughts on music, popular culture and the trimmings of my life. And it will smell good. 1
